If Babe Ruth played in todays era, Would he have tried Steroids (Read On)?
Ruth was known as the ultimate competito, one who would do anything to gain an advantage. Such as a corked bat From Bill Jame's "Baseball Historical Baseball Abstract" in 1983 a travelling Hillerich and Bradsby exhibit featured a Babe Ruth bat. According to Dan Gutman in In Ain't Cheatin' If you Don't Get Caught, the Seattle players were admiring the bat "when Dave Henderson noticed that the round end of the bat didn't exactly match the wood of the barrel. The end was cracked, but the rest of the bat was not. " 'That's a plug!' said Henderson. 'This bat is corked'" ... As I see it nothing could be more typical of Ruth than to use a corked bat if he could get by with it. Ruth tested the limits of the rules constantly; this is what made him who he was." Ruth would push the limits to make himself better. Soo would he have tried roids in your mind?

Answer 1 :
We dont know if Ruth didn't take 'roids....
Answer 2 :
Well never know. I mean, I'm sure most would like to be able to say he wouldn't, but then again how could we ever know.
Answer 3 :
the bat was not Ruth's bat. his were canadian made. h b had babe ruth autograph model. in new york, steroids . hot dog and beer diet. no reliable tests. i think he would have. unfourtantly we will never have any evidence. he always will be the greatest baseball player ever.
Answer 4 :
I believe he would have. Here is an answer I gave to a similar question: Well, there have been reports that Ruth injected himself with an extract from sheep's testicles to enhance his performance at the plate in the 1920's. I'm not saying he did or didn't, just reminding people that it is not as far fetched as one might think. Charles-Édouard Brown-Séquard was making injections derived from the testicles of guinea pigs in the 1800s. "According to The Baseball Hall of Shame's Warped Record Book, by Bruce Nash, Allan Zullo and Bob Smith, the Bambino fell ill one year attempting to inject himself with extract from a sheep's testes. This effort by more than a few athletes of his era to seek the healing and strengthening properties of testosterone prefigured the craze for steroids." - Dave Zirin *
Answer 5 :
that's a great hypothetical question I like to think of him bulking himself up on hot dogs though, not the syringe
Answer 6 :
Of course he would have .... If he played today he would be so out of shape all he would have is the long ball he constantly smoked cigars and drank beer so he obviously would give a rats ass about his health. Nothing would be holding him back He wanted to be the best ... he was baseballs first Diva
Answer 7 :
no way, he was to busy chasing women, drinking beer, hanging out with childred, and hitting homeruns. he was a legend

Answer 1 :
Hi i live in CHICARGO! I have 6 Abyssinian kittens, my price is 50$ ono. Contact me. :)
Answer 2 :
$50 for an abby? You're about $200 too low. You can try contacting the breed rescues in your area (they're usually online, just google them and your state). But since you're going to be traveling, you should most likely wait till you get to the other state and then look there. It'll be less stressful on the cat you get. I'm afraid though that if you think $50 is all you can afford, how can you cover the checkup, vaccinations and neuter/spay the cat will need?
Answer 3 :
Good luck on that! Most Abbys run about 600-700$. Some low end breeders run about 200$. You can't even adopt from most shelters with only 50$. Sorry
Answer 4 :
Abyssal kittens!? WTF

About Why Is Yogi Berra Considered a Genius

Why Is Yogi Berra Considered a Genius?
Perhaps these are a few reasons??? Thoughts? * "This is like deja vu all over again." * "You can observe a lot just by watching." * "He must have made that before he died." -- Referring to a Steve McQueen movie. * "I want to thank you for making this day necessary." -- On Yogi Berra Appreciation Day in St. Louis in 1947. * "I'd find the fellow who lost it, and, if he was poor, I'd return it." -- When asked what he would do if he found a million dollars. * "Think! How the hell are you gonna think and hit at the same time?" * "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." * "I knew I was going to take the wrong train, so I left early." * "If you don't know where you are going, you will wind up somewhere else." * "If you can't imitate him, don't copy him." * "You better cut the pizza in four pieces because I'm not hungry enough to eat six." * "Baseball is 90% mental -- the other half is physical." * "It was impossible to get a conversation going; everybody was talking too much." * "Slump? I ain't in no slump. I just ain't hitting." * "A nickel isn't worth a dime today." * "Nobody goes there anymore; it's too crowded." * "It gets late early out there." -- Referring to the bad sun conditions in left field at the stadium. * "Glen Cove." -- Referring to Glenn Close on a movie review television show. * Once, Yogi's wife Carmen asked, "Yogi, you are from St. Louis, we live in New Jersey, and you played ball in New York. If you go before I do, where would you like me to have you buried?" Yogi replied, "Surprise me." * "Do you mean now?" -- When asked for the time. * "I take a two hour nap, from one o'clock to four." * "If you come to a fork in the road, take it." * "You give 100 percent in the first half of the game, and if that isn't enough in the second half you give what's left." * "90% of the putts that are short don't go in." * "I made a wrong mistake." * "Texas has a lot of electrical votes." -- During an election campaign, after George Bush stated that Texas was important to the election. * "Thanks, you don't look so hot yourself." -- After being told he looked cool. * "I always thought that record would stand until it was broken." * "Yeah, but we're making great time!" -- In reply to "Hey Yogi, I think we're lost." * "If the fans don't come out to the ball park, you can't stop them." * "Why buy good luggage? You only use it when you travel." * "It's never happened in the World Series competition, and it still hasn't." * "How long have you known me, Jack? And you still don't know how to spell my name." -- Upon receiving a check from Jack Buck made out to "bearer." * "I'd say he's done more than that." -- When asked if first baseman Don Mattingly had exceeded expectations for the current season. * "The other teams could make trouble for us if they win." * "He can run anytime he wants. I'm giving him the red light." -- On the acquisition of fleet Ricky Henderson. * "I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat, and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?" * "It ain't the heat; it's the humility." * "The towels were so thick there I could hardly close my suitcase." * "You should always go to other people's funerals; otherwise, they won't come to yours." * "I didn't really say everything I said." He is a fellow WOP...so I love him. He made the game of baseball for me...along with The Mick, Roger, and a few others. Thanks for the wonderful answers to my little Shrine to Yogi.

Answer 1 :
Not a genius, just clever. He had some other phrases on an Aflac commercial like "and they pay in cash, which is just as good as money". The one where he says, "Do you mean now?" -- When asked for the time, he could have said, "Even if I told you I'd be wrong".
Answer 2 :
C'mon you cant not like the Yog... He dropped outta school early so wasnt really the brightest bulb academically - but in terms of sreet wits and smarts hes right up there..Just look at some of those sayings - they're beauts..So simple, maybe not makin logical sense at times - but always good to contemplate over a few beers or sumtn...The world is definitely a better place with yogis wise words...
Answer 3 :
I would argue that Yogi Berra isn't referred to as a genius - at least I've never heard him called that. What I will say is that in addition to his long list of quotes, which provide insight and humor into both baseball and life in general, he was one heck of a ballplayer. Consider these numbers: -15 time All-Star -3 time MVP -Played in 14 World Series, winning 10 of them -Most WS games by a catcher - 63 -Most hits in the World Series - 71 -1st in at bats and doubles in WS games, 2nd in RBI, 3rd in HRs and BB -One of only a handful of managers to win a pennant in both the AL and NL Plus, his career numbers: Average 285 Games 2120 At Bats 7555 Runs 1175 Hits 2150 2B 321 3B 49 HR 358 RBI 1430 BB 704 SO 414 And an induction to the Hall of Fame in 1972. I would say he was a darn good ballplayer who has a great personality that draws people to him, along with a knack for humorous quips and insights that people can relate to.
Answer 4 :
It's the THOUGHT that counts. Besides... How many great games did he call behind the plate? Including Don Larsen's World Series perfect game?
Answer 5 :
Don't know about genius, but he is funny though.
Answer 6 :
For One he was great. And two he is smart because he played for the yankees
Answer 7 :
You missed the classic< It aint over, till its over.
Answer 8 :
God bless Yogisms
