About Which state park would you recommend in the southeast United States

Which state park would you recommend in the southeast United States?
I haven't been to many state parks. So let's share traveling ideas. Where do you like to go and why? Thanks for your feedback! I don't have an RV or camper, so it's either find a cabin or rough it camping. I enjoyed Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama where we rented a cabin. We went during the fall. The foliage and mountains were magnificent. The cabin was cozy and it overlooked the valley and downtown Huntsville. http://www.alapark.com/parks/park.cfm?parkid=6 This summer I camped at Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, Florida. Campers share a 'private' beach and the facilities are spotless clean. The white sandy beaches with emerald green waters are beautiful! http://www.floridastateparks.org/hendersonbeach/default.cfm

http://www.floridastateparks.org/caladesiisland/ I went to caladesi last year and absolutely loved it. It's beautiful and unspoiled. There were huge turtles walking on the beach and beautiful birds. The boat ride to it is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend it.
Answer 2 :
Take a look at Land Between the Lakes in Tennesee. Anywhere in Tennesee, for that matter. Beeuutifulll.
Answer 3 :
Try Seashore State Park in Virginia Beach, Va. They have cabins to rent.
Answer 4 :
I liked Joe Wheeler State Park near Decatur, Alabama. The only drawback is that it is in a dry county, so you'll need to bring your own beer or wine

About What airplane would be used for a trip from san francisco to las vegas

What airplane would be used for a trip from san francisco to las vegas?
I'm taking a trip from San Francisco International to Henderson, NV (not sure what the airport is called) in the beginning of April. Does anyone know what type of plane would be used or at least the amount of people traveling?

Answer 1 :
american airlines, united has mean workers, well when i flew from london to new york the attendent was mean
Answer 2 :
That info should be on the airlines website. Just go out to their site and type in the flight number where asked and do a search.
Answer 3 :
More than likely a commutator plane like a JetStream or a 737.
Answer 4 :
Possibly a CRJ series aircraft, an a320, or a 737
Answer 5 :
Henderson is really a suburb of Las Vegas now. You should be flying into McCarran Itnl. Punch it into travelocity.com or expedia.com and find out. SFO to LAS United flies Airbus 321s there.
Answer 6 :
A Boeing 737 or Airbus A319
Answer 7 :
Henderson? That's just outside LV, so you're flying into McCarran for sure. Probably Airbus 300's and variations (listed as 319, 321, 322, etc.) or Boeing 767's and 737's. LV is a hub and gets lots of transfer flights. I'd say your plane will seat 220-300 people. When National existed, they used 767's.
Answer 8 :
Air Canada

About How safe are greyhound buses? Is it safe for a teenage girl to travel alone on a bus

How safe are greyhound buses? Is it safe for a teenage girl to travel alone on a bus?
Riding the greyhound might be the only way I could visit my family this summer... I would be on 14 1/2 hour trip from henderson NV, to Albuquerque NM... There would be 1 transfer in flagstff AZ where i would also have about a 1 hour and 40 minute layover. And a 30 minute layover in gallup NM. Is it safe to travel the greyhound? I also would like to know if any parents out there would let thier teenage daughter travel villa greyhound? At layovers can you remain on the bus? And how do transfers work? For those who dont see a problem with it, are there any facts/stats. that could help me persuade my parents to let me ride the greyhound alone? or any pionts i could bring up when talking to them about this trip? Thanks so much Also i may not be alone i may go with my little sister who is going to be sophmore in the fall... I will be a junior

Answer 1 :
Not safe go with ur parents
Answer 2 :
Well I do not know much about busses nor am I a parent. This is more of a common sense issue; a female in today's world is rough and scary, there really is no safe way to travel. If you are of a decent age of 16 or older it would be alright but just stay cautious. Any younger I won't travel alone.
Answer 3 :
NOT SAFE! I took a Greyhound bus trip once and it was a nightmare! Some weirdo pulled a knife on me (luckily he didn't stab me!!!!) and when we came to a stop I had to alert the driver, who called the police and the guy was removed from the bus. To this day I don't know why he did it or why he chose to then leave me alone. All I know, is that I WILL NEVER RIDE A BUS AGAIN! It's cheap travel so the you see some pretty troubled people on buses

About Can Someone who is familiar with executive jet travel answer my question

Can Someone who is familiar with executive jet travel answer my question?
I see these adds for $2200 for a single seat on a 12 seat executive jet for one way from Vegas to Van Nuys airport in Los Angeles (includes limousine). I know that is a lot higher than Business Select for $160 each way on Southwest Airlines. --------------------- I believe that the builders of the Desert Express high speed train from Vegas to Victorville (186 miles in 84 minutes) for $100 are planning to have an executive service It is 65 miles from Downtown Los Angeles helipad to Victorville train station (that's about 25 minutes) with an efficient 10 minute transfer that would make it from Downtown office block to Vegas in less than 2 hours. I figure it would be about $1K round trip. Not a poor man's way to travel, but a fairly efficient way to get the kind of gambler that will run $50K-$100K through a table in an afternoon. With a 12 seat helicopter like the kind that takes people from Manhattan to JFK, they might be able to get 100 mid-high rollers a day from downtown Los Angeles to Vegas a day. ------------------------------ Does this make sense? ------------------------------ I see that a (Sikorsky S-76C++) capacity: 12 passengers maximum speed of 155 knots and a ferry range: (345 nmi w/ 30 minute reserve) could make the entire 192 nm from downtown Los Angeles to the Vegas Executive Airport in Henderson. Does this make any sense financially (i.e. could you do this trip for $1000 round trip). I see that they charge about $300 one way for a helo trip from downtown to LAX (10.5 nm) so it seems like travelling by helo all the way to Las Vegas would be closer to $2K (and not the most comfortable). Can I get a sanity check?

Answer 1 :
i did this before in an arrow and it cost about $250 each way to klas. i took 3 people and we split the cost so it was reasonable. i dont know anything about helicopters but the r22 near me costs 200 an hour and that only has 2 seats.
Answer 2 :
You need to figure a lot more costs, more importantly the amount of time it will take to get the FAA operating certificate you will need, hire the appropriate people (Director of Operations, Maintenance and Chief Pilot), leases for the the airports, comply with the DHS/TSA security crap, and what you're going to do when the Santa Anna's blow and your choppers ground speed goes to 25 mph and trucks are passing on the highway. Oh yeah, SW doesn't have a business class; they do cattle car.
Answer 3 :
The operating cost per trip of an S76 is going to be much higher than a 12 passenger bizjet, so without another source of revenue to offset the higher cost, there is no way it's going to be competitive financially. The high speed train will be tied up in environmental permits for a decade, so trying to figure out its competitive financials is a waste of time. Helicopters make sense only on short point to point or airport to off-airport operations where the value of time is an issue.
Answer 4 :
i have a grand san that travels Avery day with those jet and some times 2 times.is the Ned to be at the sed place a certain time and the big co do not care how much money will cost

OMG! I love Henderson. My best friend lives there! There are black widow spiders in garages every once in a while. The other pests are cockroaches. Those things SUCK! It's like they're all over the place. I'm guessing you're not going to be living in a house with a pool, but they get HUGE spiders sometimes. It's gross. Those are the only bugs that I ever remember seeing there. It's so hot in Henderson... Alaska to Henderson... Good luck with the heat!

About What is best deal to travel to "great canyon" on a coach from Nevada

What is best deal to travel to "great canyon" on a coach from Nevada?
We would like to travel to the Great canyon by coach [day trip] from Nevada - Henderson. We would like to see the south of the Great Canyon and also go to the sky bridge at west. SORRY! IT SHOULD BE "GRAND CANYON" - i THINK IT'S "GREAT" PLACE TO BE.

Answer 1 :
I'm sorry that I can't recommend a specific tour - there seem to be quite a few available, and it looks like you could expect to pay something in the neighborhood of $150 per person for a quality tour. What I can recommend, however, is that you focus your search on trips to the GRAND, not GREAT Canyon. The Canyon is great, indeed, but it's so great that it's Grand.
Answer 2 :
It's the GRAND Canyon. There are many coach trips. You can arrange one through the hotel you're staying at in Henderson. Enjoy your visit.
Answer 3 :
Go to this web site. The tours generally start near the strip hotels, but they will probably pick you up on the way since Henderson is on the way they will be going to the Grand Canyon. If they will not pick you up, drive to a hotel, like the Green Valley Ranch, and have them pick you up there. Hotel parking is free

About Travel From El-Cortez Las Vegas - Ethel M Choclate factory henderson Nevada

Travel From El-Cortez Las Vegas - Ethel M Choclate factory henderson Nevada?
Hi, We are planning to visit Las Vegas On September and plan to stay at El Cortez hotel in downtown Las vegas. What are my available options to go to Ethel M Choclate factory in Henderson by using Public transit,Shuttle or Cab.I am not planning to rent a car. Any suggestions for cheaper options ?
Las Vegas - 3 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
The El Cortez is about two blocks from the downtown transit center. They will be able to help you get a bus to Ethel Ms. Also there is M & M World on the strip accross from New York New York casino.
Answer 2 :
This is the CAT/Deuce web site http://www.rtcsnv.com The best way to go would be to take the Deuce from the DTC(Downtown Transportaion Center) or you can catch the Deuce at the intersection of LV Blvd S & Fremont. All the way out to the SSTT(South Strip Transfer Terminal) - Transfer to the #212 W Sunset, this bus will take you right to the Ethel M Chocalate Factory & Botanical Gardens Hint- walk the extra 2 blocks over to the DTC, go to the upper level on the Deuce, take the front seats if you can get them. Cost - $5 for a 24hr pass Just for your info the El Cortez does have a free shuttle, to and from McCarran. It's not a 24hr a day shuttle and you need to let the front desk know that you need a ride. I would let them know the day before, when you will be arriving. When I was staying there in June the shuttle was running every 2 hours on the even hour from the EC to McCarran 1-800-634-6703 1-702-385-5200 Or you can catch the CAT bus from McCarran to downtown, both the #108 Paradise & #109 Maryland Pkwy North bus run to downtown from the airport. You can ride the bus if you travel fairly light(carry on luggage only). The bus stop at McCarran is located at "Ground Level Transportation 0". Cost - $1.25 exact change required ~Jack~
Answer 3 :
Rent a car
