How safe are greyhound buses? Is it safe for a teenage girl to travel alone on a bus?
Riding the greyhound might be the only way I could visit my family this summer... I would be on 14 1/2 hour trip from henderson NV, to Albuquerque NM... There would be 1 transfer in flagstff AZ where i would also have about a 1 hour and 40 minute layover. And a 30 minute layover in gallup NM. Is it safe to travel the greyhound? I also would like to know if any parents out there would let thier teenage daughter travel villa greyhound? At layovers can you remain on the bus? And how do transfers work? For those who dont see a problem with it, are there any facts/stats. that could help me persuade my parents to let me ride the greyhound alone? or any pionts i could bring up when talking to them about this trip? Thanks so much Also i may not be alone i may go with my little sister who is going to be sophmore in the fall... I will be a junior

Not safe go with ur parents
Answer 2 :
Well I do not know much about busses nor am I a parent. This is more of a common sense issue; a female in today's world is rough and scary, there really is no safe way to travel. If you are of a decent age of 16 or older it would be alright but just stay cautious. Any younger I won't travel alone.

NOT SAFE! I took a Greyhound bus trip once and it was a nightmare! Some weirdo pulled a knife on me (luckily he didn't stab me!!!!) and when we came to a stop I had to alert the driver, who called the police and the guy was removed from the bus. To this day I don't know why he did it or why he chose to then leave me alone. All I know, is that I WILL NEVER RIDE A BUS AGAIN! It's cheap travel so the you see some pretty troubled people on buses
